1.8.3 — current release

September 30, 2026. Removed Left/Right frame-step and Up/Down preview-volume shortcuts, their queue/cache and the preview keyboard hook. Space play/pause, mouse/timeline and HH:MM:SS selection remain. Black-screen padding, fades, subtitles and conversion options remain available.

1.8.0–1.8.2 — black screens and preview revisions

Added independently configurable silent black before/after every disc, defaulting to four seconds. Included padding time in capacity and bitrate fitting. Preview stepping and keyboard-routing revisions passed focused development tests but did not resolve the reported behavior on the user’s setup; arrow shortcuts were subsequently removed in 1.8.3.

1.7.0 — accessibility and disc-break fades

Added optional picture/audio fade-out and fade-in at internal breaks. Kept low vision readable during conversion and made its fixed toggle available during jobs. Changed the footer wording to 4K and HD. Introduced arrow preview shortcuts, now removed.

1.6.0 — time entry, playback and encoding choices

Added HH:MM:SS break times, FFplay preview with Space play/pause, MPEG-1 XVCD and MPEG-2 SVCD choices for fitting and splitting, and advanced picture/audio encoding parameters.

1.5.0 — manual breaks, fitting and subtitles

Added remembered large-text high-contrast mode, per-disc maximum bitrate, chosen disc count, manual break preview, embedded/external subtitle burn-in and lossless intermediates for per-volume encoding.

1.4.0 and earlier

Added sustained-quiet-audio/black-screen break ranking and plan reports. Earlier releases added format selection, icons, shortcuts, donation links, one-CD fitting and widescreen squeeze. Version 1.3.2 fixed donation-menu handling.
