This video features Albie and Chris from the Treksploration podcast, joined by Zila @zilatreks*, to discuss what they consider the worst episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (DS9). While DS9 is highly regarded, the group explores the episodes that are often criticized or deemed problematic by the fandom, while also sharing their own personal opinions—sometimes defending episodes that others dislike.
### **Key Episodes Discussed:**
* **Move Along Home** (4:06 – 7:56): Widely considered the “worst” DS9 episode, though the hosts enjoy its silliness and acknowledge the strong performances of *Armen Shimerman* (*Quark*) and *Rene Auberjonois* (*Odo*) even in the first season.
* **If Wishes Were Horses** (8:07 – 9:07): Discussed for its *Rumpelstiltskin* plot, which the hosts generally find forgettable or silly.
* **Let He Who Is Without Sin** (9:07 – 12:49): Critiqued for its portrayal of *Worf* and for being a generally “thankless” script.
* **The Muse** (14:46 – 17:23): Referred to as “Jake Succubus,” featuring *Meg Foster* as the guest star.
* **For the Cause** (35:27 – 36:44): The hosts discuss *Cisco*’s controversial decision to gas a planet in his conflict with *Edington*.
* **Fascination** (46:52 – 47:45): The *Lwaxana Troi* love virus episode; while often hated, *Zila* defends it as being “funny, silly, and goofy.”
* **Times Orphan** (17:53 – 19:43): The hosts discuss “Feral Molly,” noting that while it appears on many “worst of” lists, they actually find it quite poignant.
### **Other Highlights:**
* **Mirror Universe Omnibus** (36:50 – 40:15): The hosts decide to group all *Mirror Universe* episodes (starting with *Crossover*) to discuss them as a collection rather than individually.
* **Character Arcs and Ezri Dax** (44:20 – 46:02): The group discusses *Ezri Dax*, agreeing that her only issue was being a “first-season character dropped into season seven.”
* **Far Beyond the Stars** (29:41 – 32:51): A brief, passionate debate occurs regarding the emotional final scene of this episode, with *Chris* finding it overly melodramatic while *Albie* and *Zila* defend its impact.
The hosts conclude by teasing their upcoming coverage of the best and worst of *Star Trek: Voyager and confirming their plans for future reviews, including the new season of Strange New Worlds.
