Station 823 · MovieSeeD documentationMovieSeeD 0.3.2 Beta. Release notes
Made by Albert Mark Burdge. Intended download site: station823.com.
Changes in 0.3.2
- Fixed full-disc conversion failing with missing codec/output arguments when selecting a drive root such as G:\ .
- Corrected Windows argument quoting for paths with spaces and trailing backslashes. Six process argument round-trip checks passed; a full conversion has not been rerun for this patch.
Included
- Continuous, on-demand original-codec playback with a bounded rolling video buffer and direct source audio. The segment preparation interface has been removed.
- Full-disc conversion joins matching AVI files from the disc root and VIDEOS folder into one H.264 MP4, H.265 MP4 or MJPEG/PCM AVI, with a full-width progress bar, live percentage, estimated time remaining, cancellation, and protected output replacement.
- Fullscreen controls hide until needed. One-minute Left/Right seeks; Up/Down volume; 0-199% volume; mute; frame stepping; timeline and time entry.
- Playback speed 0.25×-2× with corresponding audio pitch change; repeat; A-B loop; previous/next file; automatic file continuation.
- PNG snapshots, aspect ratios, fill/crop, smooth scaling, always-on-top.
- Optional large bold high-contrast controls, remembered between runs.
- SRT/WebVTT subtitles, sidecar loading, show/hide, timing adjustment, and an experimental optional local whisper.cpp caption workflow.
- MovieSeeD logo and multi-resolution Windows icon, per-user installer, Start menu and optional desktop shortcuts, uninstaller, portable ZIP, documentation, source, and license materials.
- Made by Albert Mark Burdge credit, supplied PayPal and Venmo support links.
Requirements and limits
The original supported Sirius NT 5.02 codec is user-supplied; no movie or proprietary codec is included. The Windows 95 codec is not supported. Input is indexed Motion Pixels AVI with PCM audio. Titles are attempted without a title whitelist. This engine does not decode DVD-Video or Blu-ray.
The Mask is publisher-reported working. The Toxic Avenger discs have been used in local development. Check Validation for completed tests; broad disc compatibility and clean Windows 10/11 installation remain unverified.
Classic AVI export has a 3.75 GiB limit and uses lossy JPEG video. There is no embedded subtitle extraction, multi-disc timeline, pitch-preserving speed adjustment, or complete VLC feature parity. A full export exceeding the size limit fails safely. Automatic captions require a separate whisper.cpp executable and compatible model; caption accuracy is not guaranteed.
The application and installer are unsigned. This remains a beta release with the limits stated above.
